Well, you look at what else is going on. This is the sort of thing that happens during development: you have a bug. Debugging strategies depend on your hardware environment, whether you still have your umbilical connection, etc. We have systems that are out in the field, sometimes hundreds of miles away from any humans. They have to be debugged very thoroughly in order to deliver adequate reliability, including simulating the kinds of failures that can cause hang-ups (mainly hardware or comms failures).
