I could agree with this in the abstract - communication with the rest of the world could be via the GA144 "one wire" link, using a single capacitor for electrical isolation, and having a speed comparable to USB high-speed mode. It' a pity that Jeff is nonger with us... The reality is that I need to interface to RS485 serial, USB, LCD etc all of which need timing. The need to run three nodes in loops for polyForth comes about from the inability of the current GA144 to wait in an idle state for more than one port to change. Even with this limitation the GA144 runs polyForth faster per mW than an 8051 (results subject to testing). With the GA144-2 the power would be much lower. Best regards, Howerd
