And warnings about which ones are protected. I can hear China sometimes. Lots of the old SWBC stations are gone. Most of the ones in Europe have shut down. My little Grundig cannot pickup the smaller SW station in the Pacific Ocean. I haven't used my Grundig SW radio this year. -- JimP.

The only problem with it is the converter. It lasts about a year and then the radio plug falls off. This is a little frustrating but the real annoyance is that I can't buy one in the brick/mortar stoers here. I have order a new one from Crane. /BAH

Corse if you had enough of a clue to get a decent net service, you could listen to any of the radio stations you want on the net. English and Spanish are the outlier here. Almost all other western languages use thousand->million->milliard->billion->billiard->trillion->trilliard 1e3 1e6 1e9 1e12 1e15 1e18 1e21 Like french, mille->million->milliard->billion->billiard->trillion->trilliard (This was the source of the ..illion/..illiard nomenclarture) german tausend millionen milliarden billionen billiarden finnish tuhat miljoonaa miljardia biljoonaa biljardi etc dutch duizend miljoen miljard biljoen biljart etc etc, similar for italian, portugese(?), scandinavian languages, russian and the other cyrilic languages. I have heard english speakers adapt to this european regime when communicating with us, but then they usually signal that they have exceptions from their normal language use. I have the Zwanzig Milliarden Mark and the F"unfzig Milliarden Mark notes
from october 1923, printed with good ink and presses but on cheap paper,
and only printed on one side. They have become brittle.

He had framed versions of all of these, as well as a score of other
high inflation notes, framed in his office. AFAIK they are still there,
as a reminder for the incumbent to watch inflation.
