There has not yet been a proposal for that. However, there have been
discussions on standardizing a C interface, so you could then use the
threads and sockets APIs for C.

There are a many objects packages available, some of them programmed
in standard Forth. There is only a limited consensus on what a
standard objects extension should look like (at least there now seems
to be consensus on the "object method" syntax). So it is unlikely
that we will reach a consensus on an objects extension soon.
I proposed quite a while ago that if someone wrote a library that used
a specific objects package and that everyone wants to use, we would
standardize on that objects package, but that has not happened yet;
well, there are some libraries, like FFL, but the "everyone wants to
use them" has not happened.
Concerning modules, there is not much discussion about standardizing
more than we have now (word lists and search order), except
occasionally discussion about a "dot parser", which would allow to
qualify names with their name space.
