Actually, it's the other way round.  The JNI interface needs the JNI 
library, but that's a *once* thing.  And then you don't need any C compiler 
and any Java compiler, because the JNI interface is much better thought 
through than the C ABI.  There is actually a standard for calling Java, and 
it works on both implementations (Oracle *and* Android).  And Java's 
introspection potentially allows you to take the relevant information right 
from Java itself.  You can ask what names and calling arguments a Java 
method has, and Java will tell you!  At runtime, without having to dig 
through .h files!

For a start, please write a JNI interface using your extern interface.  I 
think it's impossible, because the way the JNI interface uses C is not the 
way you expect it.
