The typical setup was for the interrupt to read a A/D, drop the value in the array, increment the array pointer, increment the frequency and write it to the synchronous frequency generator. We got this whole interrupt look to run in 13 cycles! And, indeed, it limited the speed of the data-capture. Just try getting from waiting for an interrupt to waiting for an interrupt in 13 cycles on ANY modern machine! Mitch
