Both are still around somewhere, haven't > touched them in years. > The device was slow by later standards but it never stood a change, programming wise it was decent. TI used every trick to possibly cripple the CPU in the TI99/4, unfortunately that is a horrible market ploy that most likely backfired on them. Most likely designers that saw the performance of the TI99/4 were turned off before they looked at the device. You can still find the chips an the TI99/4 on eBay for all it's worth. Actually those EPROMs you mentioned are rather expensive, the much larger sizes are way cheaper. The 1Mb 28c1000 parts are available inexpensively and are prime parts from distributors. I recently bought some 27C256 and 29C256 devices for a CDP 1802, and Z80 projects and they cost more than the 28c1000 parts which are 4X bigger and way faster. As soon as I can find some decent wire-wrap 32 pin sockets I will buy some of those chips and save some money on future projects even if I only use part of the devices. -- Cecil - k5nwa
