I haven't said what language for a variety of reasons. C for example in many
implementations don't always have a data stack to work with and don't
always use it when they have.

Forth is in some ways a special case in terms of language
implementation. The ISA I am working on has some similarities to some
forth ISA's.

:) Probably the best argument for compiled code is compilers get to
start over every time they are called to make code generation choices
and hand code gets to evolve living with some historical artifacts over
time.
