Besides Waves MaxxAudio, Dell says:

> This audio driver requires the Waves MaxxAudio Pro or Dell Optimizer application to be installed to have full functionality.

I can't tell if the Dell Optimizer is just 'what you get' when you get 
into the OS Audio.

Dell's site provides multiple Optimizer pages for the various versions.
