I did it whist I was asleep last night, Mike and just a few minutes to
finalise this morning. You were correct though - it was a wasted effort.
There is still no sound.

I'm sure, like most boys, you applied a voltage from a battery, with a 
couple of wires, directly to the terminals of a loudspeaker - and heard 
a 'click'. That's what I hear from the Dell laptop. I'm convinced that 
the small loudspeakers themselves DO work - it's simply that they are 
not receiving the required input!

This is not an important exercise. It's more like doing a crossword
puzzle or Sudoku - there WILL be a solution - it's simply a case of
finding it! ;-)

I may try Paul's latest find!
