As above, I have long lamented the terrible decision by Mrs Merkel to
welcome as many as who could get to Germany. I think it will go down as
one of the worst policy decisions ever made. So I noted a comment by a
migrant to Mrs Merkel: “Why couldn’t you say no from the beginning?”

http://www.thelondondailynews.com/migrants-acuse-germany/

From their point of view the migrants have been invited to Europe and
given the impression that if they get here they will be welcomed, at
least in Germany. To people living under the oppression of an Islamic
regime or in poverty or under threat that must seem like a golden
opportunity to build a better and safer future for themselves and their
families, if they are prepared to take the chance.

What they find when they get here is very different: closed borders,
wire fences, mud, tents and unsanitary conditions. Those that survive
the journey mostly find themselves in large groups of people, not
welcomed and not wanted.

It is a far better policy to transport over the few who are both genuine
refugees and who need to come here.
