Yeah, you certainly need something like that for the power and home buttons just so you can use it enough to be able to get into the full manual. >>> Apple tries to create the impression that it's a superior product for >>> superior more intelligent users. >> It is a lot more intuitive than the android system. > You've noticed that too, huh? ;-) Yeah, Job's demand that his granny should be able to use it has certainly been very well achieved IMO. Unlike some fucking androids where even someone like me can find it hard to add a new contact with some of them, let alone someone who has never used one and has got one as a gift etc. FAR too many just give up in that situation and dump the gift. The other thing about the apple devices is that they are far less configurable than androids particularly at the UI level so you don’t get the situation where are particular device has been configured so differently by the owner that its impossible to work out how to do something very basic like take a photo with it and send the photo to someone in their contacts list when you borrow their device for something quick and dirty like that. That also means that with the Apple devices with a bit of care you can write instructions that will work on any Apple device, no matter how its been configured. >> And quite a bit more restricted too in some areas. > And that's not always a bad thing. Yeah, particularly in the UI config area like I said above. That does however mean that you can't have the same UI style right across all your devices including the non Apple devices unless you copy the Apple UI style on your non Apple devices and that isn't always possible either. >> You can't for example have the phones auto answer >> incoming calls because that can be used to snoop >> on people who set their phone up that way. >>> snobby ppl who drive European cars and sip lattes always buy Apple >>> products. :) >> Plenty of those wont touch them. >>>> The Mac OS? Cant think of any kid I know that doesn’t have one, and most of them have more than one of them too. Sure, but its still not just software. > It will do better in the larger format hybrid versions I suspect. Dunno. The problem is that the UI is pretty doggy compared with iOS and the other market with that UI, laptops are dying in the arse now. They wont be completely replaced by tablets, bit it remains to be seen if its much of a market for long. >> Or with phones now either since the Nokia takeover. > My sister has a Nokia phone with Windows on it. Yeah, the ipod was in fact a hell of a device, left all the other media players for dead. Its only real problem is that it makes more sense to have that functionality in the phone now that almost everyone has a phone now.
