That’s quite unlikely than the SMART report will tell me
if that is the problem even if you don’t understand it.

Makes more sense to get the SMART report first.

That might well be just because there is a bad part of the drive
and after the reinstall, what is used most doesn’t happen to be
on the drive there. Again, the SMART report will make that clear.

Its almost certainly dying and the SMART report will confirm that.
