Lots of hidden preferences have been there since Lion - and lots for
even longer. So what?

They and you are full of shit. Apple is merging features from OS X to
iOS and also features from iOS into OS X, and that's mostly a good
thing.  Without it we wouldn't have great features like Continuity,
Hand-off, and so on.
