SteerMouse has some quirks: if I add a new program it does not assume that
is the one I want to use and goes back to the default. Until I got used to
that I would sometimes start changing the default and then realize my
mistake. Not a big deal, but there it is. Also it has a System Preference
that does nothing but open the separate settings application. Odd... but
again no big deal.

With that said, if you have a more standard mouse it would not offer much
benefit. I do have my middle mouse button do different things in different
programs, but most would not.

My other buttons are set to Hide, show all windows, and Mission Control. I
use hide a lot but rarely the other two.
