Sogar an der Hochschule. In puncto Brechung aber nur mit jeweils zwei
aneinandergrenzenden Medien mit unterschiedlichen Brechungsindizes
("Brechzahlen") zu tun gehabt.

Hm, also nochmal: Warum sieht die Sonne dicht über dem Horizont
(typischerweise Meeresoberfläche) manchmal so groß und rot aus?
(Und der Himmel des öfteren blau ....)
Also was ich so in Erinnerung behalten habe (ist aber schon etwas länger
her): Das soll eher was mit Beugung zu tun haben ...
