Jeder GPS-Empfänger hat eine Software eingebaut, die die Zeitdilatation aus dem Zeitsignal des Satelliten basierend auf seinem Positionssignal herausrechnet. > Sondern per Daten-Paket vom GPS Satelit. Das ist nicht nur ein Satellit, sondern *mehrere*. Mit einem Satelliten funktioniert *Tri*lateration nicht. Auch mit zweien nicht. Und mit dreien geht es zwar, aber nur wenn alle Satelliten über dem Horizont sind, was bei der grossen Erde nicht geht, wenn es für alle Erdbewohner gleichzeitig funktionieren soll. Deshalb braucht man mindestens 24 GPS-Satelliten; derzeit sind es 32. Diese bewegen sich jeweils gegenüber dem Erdboden mit einer ziemlich hohen Geschwindigkeit (alle 12 Stunden einmal um die Erde, in ca. 20'000 km Höhe – rechne das mal aus, wenn Du kannst). Ausserdem ticken Uhren auf dem Erdboden auch langsamer als die im Orbit (gravitative Zeitdilation) bzw. Uhren im Orbit ticken schneller als die auf dem Erdboden; aber eben sogar noch schneller als sie wegen der hohen Geschwindigkeit der Satelliten langsamer ticken. Die beiden Effekte gleichen sich also nicht aus, und das wäre ein Problem, wenn man das nicht berücksichtigen würde: jeden Tag wäre die Ortsbestimmung um weitere ca. 10 km falsch.
