Yes, sometimes, but probably not for the reason of opposing the
government, i.e., they need a secret route for unlawful activity.

Probably not.

To this day, many people are opposed to taxes here, even if they
use and understand the benefits of public roads, public schools,
etc.  I'd say this is true even in lower class, middle class, and
even upper classes.  Small rebel movements actually claim that
taxes are illegal, or that the laws of the federal government don't
apply to them.  These voices seem to be getting louder.  Some people
just don't like authority.  This stuff is like playground rumors as
a child.  These beliefs are passed down generation to generation
and never seem to die.

Don't forget how this country got it start, i.e., opposing British
taxes on tea and molasses used for rum.  Of course, that too was
inflamed by the French who didn't tax ...  I.e., there is plenty of
historical evidence to suggest France used the colonial U.S. in a
financial proxy war with Britain.

As mentioned before, I doubt that it'll end any time soon here.
The lack of basic jobs here means that economic parity for
minorities and social equality is unlikely to arrive any time
soon.  I would say not fixing the economy was the largest failing
of President Obama.  I would've helped minorities immensely, but
his mental model doesn't think Republican.
