TV-Output Mythbunto 10.10

Hi everybody.

I might eventually find my answer by a lot of web searching, but perhaps 
somebody here might already know what to do.

I'm trying to set up a MythTV front end and to cut a long story short, 
I've bought an old Jetway motherboard specifically because it includes 
S-Video and TV-Out connections. I'm currently trying to use it with 
Mythbuntu 10.10, as this is supposed to be the easiest option, but I am 
prepared to try something else if necessary.

The system boot up properly with a VGA monitor connected. (I don't want 
to have to use VGA output with a VGA to TV converter, because I already 
tried that and got unacceptable stuttering, and the refresh rate got 
converted from 50Hz to 60Hz and back to 50Hz again.)

I've now managed to enable the TV-Out in the bios, and booting up with 
my TV connected I see the bios screen and then the putple Ubuntu screen, 
but after than I either get a blank screen or black and white flashing 
lines.

Looking at the display setting there are no TV output settings listed. 
It would seem that Ubuntu is only recognising my VGA output. And knows 
nothing about TV Output. So I suspect the problem is probably that I 
need to install or enable some form of driver to get Ububtu to recognise 
the TV-Output.

Looking at this web page:

it says there are some restricted drivers that that need to be enabled 
for TV output, but the instructions it gives:
"Select System->Administration->Restricted Drivers Manager. Enter your 
password." seem to be for the Gnome desktop, and the Mythbuntu that I 
have installed apparently uses another graphical desktop, and I can not 
find any such command.

Perhaps it is possible to do this from the command line.
Perhaps I need to install some drivers first.
Perhaps I need to reinstall using Ubuntu + the Gnome desktop.

At the moment I'm not sure what to try next. I may find the answer 
searching the web, but if anybody knows any easy way to get this working 
I'd be glad to hear about it.
