OK I found the /etc/X11 directory and it contains:
.	fonts	xkb	Xsession
..	rgb.txt	Xreset	Xsession.d
apps-default	X	Xreset.d	Xsession.options
defaukt-display-manager	xinit	Xresources	Xwrapper.config

Typing this I get:

Fatal Server error:
Server is already active for display 0
If this server in no longer running, remove /tmp/.X0-lock and start again.
