And how many are in the back-of-beyond country towns?? My guess would
be absolutely none of them, meaning your electric car is going to run
out of power in some tiny town in the middle of nowhere and you're
stuck there over night charging your useless car from a household power
socket (at best) ... as I said in the first place.

Whereas a petrol or diesel car can be refilled at any small town "gas"
station within a few minutes and you're on your way again.

Even in a big city, "473 charging stations" is virtually nothing and
likely spread out across the city ... and if by "charging station" you
mean an individual charging point (rather than like a "gas" station
which has multiple refuelling points), then it's even worse.

Again, those are in the big city with purpose-built built charging
points at a few specific places.

And even a "clean" coal fired power station could well be more
polluting than those 1000 cars were ... certainly so by the time you
add in all the other factors like manufacturing and disposing of all
the batteries. This "electric is better" / "will save the world" idiocy
is simply a fallacy and a huge con. 

Electric cars may eventually get to a point of being useful with *lots*
more improvement, but they're currently a *long* way off being actually
useful or replacing "proper" cars for the vast majority of people ...
and they're certainly never going to "save the world".
