Prior to my current Nexus 4 with a 4.75" scrren, I had a T-Mobile
Comet (rebranded Huawei) with a 3" screen and had no problems
texting.  But I did keep them short.  No speech to text tool either.

Don't do the social media thing.  Don't stream videos or TV.  Use the
web only sparingly.  So, the size of the phone doesn't matter all that
much. And I'm still able to do whatever needs doing. Just takes
experience doing it without the gadgets.

If I traveled a lot, and spent lots of time in places I'm not familiar
with, such tools would be convenient, but where I live and work all I
need is the name of the place and major cross streets (or address) to
get there.

For obscure locations, google maps helps, but still don't need
directions. Just a quick look at the map and I know how to get there.

I just look at the price tag.  And use a debit or credit card.  Or cash!

I don't like to keep personal and financial info on my phone or
computer. Not even passwords. They're all in my head and in a safe, if
I forget.
