There are one or two machines in a column where you can scan those articles, but it is a 80 meters walk and back (worst case). Or... flip the phone. I have only used it once since I got the app. It was just an example. Another feature of the app is that you can scan and pay yourself the articles. I think. That's not something I'm interested in using. On some supermarkets of this chain you scan as you go and just pay on exit with a handheld scanner they give you on entry to the shop. Needs a subscription of some kind. Using the phone instead of the shop suplied scanner is another twist. I would instead be interested in a "search and locate article" feature. Search for something by name or fuzzy description, give me a position by aisle and ledge, or even better, guide me to it. But supermarkets want you to get lost, it is intentional, so I don't see that feature coming soon. >>>> Sure, I can live without it. But it is nice to have it, too. :-) >>> >>> Can you? Try for two weeks. Bet it will be harder than you think. >> >> Oh, I have. I'm not young. And have the money to do so. And that skews the market. That's > why smartphones are now the size of small tablets, and "small" ones no > longer exist. But then being a pragmatist, I'm a rarity. :-) Well, my starting point was not showing why those phones, but why now people that do use them prefer them bigger. I initially bought a small one, not being convinced it would be useful at all. After two or three years, I decided it was time to replace with a bigger, in several senses, phone. That is, IF I'm going to use one, I prefer it bigger. Yes, it is a nuisance to carry, but it is not that big to not fit into a pocket. 4.5" or 5". I have seen people actually using a big tablet as phone replacement. I asked, and she said her phone fell and broke (or was it stolen?). So, she just placed the SIM card into the tablet and it worked... She surprised me, she is not the technical type. Needs a bag to carry it around, but hey, she already dos that :-) -- Cheers, Carlos. --- news://freenews.netfront.net/ - complaints: news@netfront.net ---
