I don't know what else to tell you. Whatever physical or virtual device (or portion thereof) that expansion actually points to is outside the scope of the definition. It very well may mean "the hard drive only" if for instance /home/snit occupies the entirety of a hard drive. What is the point of this question anyway, given that it is a question without a real answer?
