You are an idiot.  The explanation for what is happening is right there
in the bash manpage, under the "Tilde Expansion" heading.  I posted this
already about six or eight levels above in this thread, but even with
it staring you right in the face you resist understanding.  Congratulations.
It takes a championship caliber narcissistic stupidity to cling to a mistaken
position with such intensity.
