Vectors have a direction.

A Joule for instance or a kilo-Watt-hour has no direction.

Numbers often have signs, what does not turn them into vectors.

Energy must be a scalar quantity and always positive.

You can - nevertheless - subtract energy, which is somehow similar to 
negative energy.

But in the real word there should be a thing or something similar, which 
has an attribute, that you could eventually call 'negative energy'.

Such an 'energy absorber' should absorb energy and add that to its own 
'negative energy' to nothing (zero).

But I have never heard of such a thing and actually cannot imagine one.

Sure, things can absorb heat, for instance. But then (positive) thermal 
energy is transferred from a donator to an absorber (or: from source to 
sink, if you prefer these terms).

There is still no negative energy involved.
