One program, TextEdit. And I think that has been ameliorated in ML--you
can save your document, make a copy, save under a new name, rename it
while working on it. What's not to like--unless one is determined to
find something not to like?

I have to wonder if some of the complainers are running any software at
all, or just playing in the Finder without having taken advantage of
various preferences to make it appear and work to their liking. I have
no unwanted translucency in my Finder or elsewhere. (Puh-leez! It's
translucency, not transparency. If it were transparency you wouldn't
know about it!) If I didn't want Launchpad on my Dock I would remove
it. OMG!!!! It's eating, like, 1.8MB of disk space!!!! Mission Control?
I can remove it from the Dock. OMG!!!! Another 1.9MB is, like, gone!!!!

I defy anyone to tell me how Photoshop and Aperture and Illustrator and
Mail and MSExcel and Safari and Thoth and iTunes are any different in
Lion or ML than under Snow Leopard or previous. I launch these
applications from the Dock or Apple Menu>Recent Items as I have for
years. I run all of these all day, every day, and Apple has not changed
the way they look or work in the minutest detail. The same is true of
my astronomy applications--same as always. I also use Contacts and
Calendar all day.... Wait!!!! OMG!!!!! They, like, changed the names of
these apps!!!! The sky is, like, falling!!!! Yet even with the crushing
mass of the whole sky weighing them down these apps still sync and
integrate seamlessly with all of our Macs and iOS devices via the
Internet. That's strong software!

I'll say it again, peeps: you don't owe Apple anything. If you don't
like their OS, switch to another OS. If you don't like iOS you have
alternatives there, as well. So, like, what's the problem?
