If I needed a sort I could write *and debug* quickly for even a 
fair-sized N I think I would go for insertion sort. Insertion sort is 
fairly easy to get right. What most algorithm analyses miss out is how 
efficiently modern CPUs optimize sequential memory traversals. Insertion 
sort basically depends on such sequential accesses so should be more 
efficient than a simple O() notation would suggest.
