That is a very sensible suggestion, although I wouldn't make such a 
basic mistake. Just to double check, I just pinged the address I'm using 
for this machine, which is currently switched off, and got no response. 
So no sign of anything else using the same I address.

I will probably try that at some point, but I've already spent all 
afternoon on this, and I still have other things I need to do, and every 
little think I try to do on this box seems to end up in hours of messing 
about, so I think I may leave that one for another time.

Perhaps not, although as long as I can make it work when I need to I'm 
happy enough for now. When/If I finally get it running as a 
MythFrontEnd, I wont need it to access the internet very often, so it 
wont be too much of a problem. I'll probably figure out what is going on 
at some point.
