Oh and actually I think it might be both a routing and a DNS problem. I just tried "Ping pop3.tiscali.co.uk" on both machines. The 32 bit says "unknown host pop3.tiscali.co.uk" while the 64 bit machine comes back with the IP address and the ping starts to work, it is a little slow, but that is probably the external server being busy. It is starting to look to me as though the gateway and DNS settings may be completely messed up, but I don't know why. Thanks. Richard.
