That could also be considered dubious.

But it is somewhat different.

Map is not a class but an interface, so it has no functionality to
remove (except the recently added default methods) only a contract
and the documentation of that contract clearly states that it
may throw an exception if the operation is not supported by the
implementation.

Then of course there are AbstractMap but that is more of a
code reuse thingy than a real thingy.
