False, false, false, false, false. Yes, the core syntax of semicolon-terminated statements, curly-brace block definitions, and infix arithmetic notation is vaguely the same, but the fundamental object semantics are wildly different. JavaScript is a dynamically-typed language (all attempts to add static typing have failed), which is a radical departure from Java. Actually, JS has only five types: number, undefined, string, function, and object (although ES6 does appear to add symbol to that list). The object-oriented nature of JS is fully a duck-typed system, and it's based on a prototype model of inheritance in contrast to Java's strict static subtyping relationships. JavaScript owes far more of its core semantic model to LISP or Scheme than it does Java. > - when running in the browser, the LiveConnect > technology allows Java and JavaScript code > to communicate with each other.
