I have actually trouble to understand you.
If you tye a string to a pole and pull on it, this will definetely apply
a force onto the pole.
Why in the world would you reject that?
Now connect the rope to a stone and swing it around.
The stone has the tendency to fly in streight lines, hence pulls on the
string, if you pull into the other direction.
Both forces are exactly equal in magnitude, but have opposite directions.
The pull of the stone is called 'centrifugal force' and your pull
'centripetal force'.
This is not 'two different things', but 'different perspectives on the
same thing'.
It is very similar to 'Yin and Yang' in china.
Or in more western terms: active and passive.

Sure, but there is a difference between the words 'of' and 'on'.
And I used 'of the stone' and you used 'on the stone'.
