That we misattribute those effects to a different explanation > is a side effect. Sure, we have day and night and seasons. But these effects of rotations are visible, while the rotation itself is not. This is so for obvious reasons, because we sit on the Earth and move with it. We can see movements only, if something changes in the image in our eyes. Since we sit (or stand..) on the Earth, we cannot see the Earth rotating. What rotates is the sky. Now we usually assume, the stars do not rotate, hence provide some kind of reference. But in fact we don't that for sure, because we cannot see, where the distant stars are now, because to see them would require eventually millions of years. Possibly the entire universe rotates, but we do not know, since we cannot look outside. Therefore it is actually possible to say, that we stand still and the stars rotate around the Earth, It is not particularily likely the case, but actually a possible setting. >> >> Our everyday experience is what I would call 'self centered': everybody >> sees the world with the own eyes and experiences the world from the own >> standpoint, which is different for everyone. >> >> The rotation is a phenomenon, which produces observable effects, while >> the rotation itself cannot be seen, because we are co-moving. > > Well, except that it can be seen. All that has to happen is that customary > assumptions be dropped and alternates considered. Then those effects all > have a common and easily understood and calculated accounted. 'To see' is something, which should be done with care in cosmology, since the universe we see is not real as we see that. What we see in the sky is actually an image, we receive from the past. since 'further away is also longer ago', that image is also 'stacked in time', hence heavily distorted. The real thing is, unfortunately, unknown. >> >> That is actually ok, hence we can regard our own point of view as valid >> as every other view, though different. > > The laws of physics and the accounting of phenomena are simpler in > nonrotating frames. > Non rotating frames are actually correct. But I have not criticised them, but the statement, that rotating frames are equivalent to nonrotating ones. The problem is, that we do not know whether non-rotating frames would rotate or not. Usually people think, that would follow from the previous statement. But the universe is most likely not a simple space with 3 dimensions, while the previous statement would depend on that assumption. TH
