I didn't have it on all that time. I normally turn the phone off on a
long trip like that and just turn it on for the bits that I'm not completely
confident about like the turn off from the Newell Highway to go via
Temora which has been completely rebuilt and I have only been thru
the completely rebuilt bit twice now, and thru Temora itself which is
much more messy thing than thru most towns.

Cant remember exactly when I turned it on in the run into Sydney,
likely back at Goulbourn when it was clear that it was going to be
a pretty tight thing getting to Central in time. We stopped for
petrol in Goulbourn and that's when I noticed that the predicted
time of arrival at Central was right on the time that trainslink said
you had to be there by with no checked baggage, 15 mins before
the train leaves. That's why I was hooning in at 150K+ at times
in past Campbelltown etc to attempt to give me some margin
in case of worse congestion than estimated in sydney proper.

Made the kids a bit nervous, the hooning.
