Yeah, but the main problem with that story is that
a few like MapMyWalk doesn’t, so it may well be
that they just keep the screen on so you can just
glance at the screen with the phone in a mount
on the dash and that its that that chews up the
batterys and they don’t care because its so trivial
to power the phone from the car.

I didn’t check that because I was driving with the phone
actually on the top of the dash since it wasn’t my car and
so no proper mount for the phone. I don’t have a proper
mount in my own car either even tho it’s a legal requirement
in some states like Victoria. Its in the bin under the radio in
my car where its handy there to just pick it up when you
need to put in a new destination etc and it doesn’t move
around on rough roads etc.

There certainly wasn’t any on the run in to Central
up Southern Cross Drive and then on the Eastern
Distributor where its pretty important to be in the
correct lane to get onto the Eastern Distributor.

The lanes are well marked, but just with the very
cryptic ED ONLY painted on the road itself which
doesn’t mean a damned thing to someone who
doesn’t know that the car should be going down
the Eastern Distributor.
