Ah yes, but there are lots of legacy machines out there with no HDMI ports, and/or the user doesn't realise he needs to schlep an HDMI cable around with whim, along with an indeterminate number of conversion cables and plugs, just in case. Not to mention that the apple display port to VGA is the wrong gender for some projectors (as I discovered this past weekend).
