Well, my friend, if I'd known that Apple would switch to Intel within a=20 year of my buying the G4, I would have waited. Why? Because, being the=20 picker-up of unconsidered trifles that I am, I knew that the PowerPC CPU = would not be developed further. Yes, and IMO it was potentially much superior in other ways. Much of=20 what we think of as the OS could have been built into and programmed=20 into that chip. >> So I switched to an Intel CPU, too. Ah yes, but there are lots of legacy machines out there with no HDMI=20 ports, and/or the user doesn't realise he needs to schlep an HDMI cable=20 around with whim, along with an indeterminate number of conversion=20 cables and plugs, just in case. Not to mention that the apple display=20 port to VGA is the wrong gender for some projectors (as I discovered=20 this past weekend). The developing standard seems to be wifi'ed projectors. >> Not to mention the >> hilariously funny mess labelled "printer drivers". Needed=20 because printer drivers are a mess. And it doesn't always work, because=20 people just don't like throwing away old machines that still work. --=20 Best, Wolf K https://kirkwood40.blogspot.com "What good is it having lower taxes when you can=E2=80=99t drink the wate= r?=E2=80=9D
