I'm not sure what you mean by "Lego programming".  I meant using
actual Lego's to construct 3d objects.

E.g., once you've taught a student all the languages constructs,
you might teach a student to write a "Hello World!" program, then
work up to inputting text and doing some make work and emitting
some output, then calling procedures, then work up to using arrays,
maybe then linked-lists, etc.  Each stage is progressively more
complex in terms of the steps needed to complete the project.  How
is that any different from using Lego's to construct a car, then a
house, then a skyscraper, then a plane, a city?  I.e., programming
is a form of assembling pre-assigned/designed sub-units together to
construct a larger unit.  You could compare it to solving a math
problem too, or designing a step-by-step manufacturing process, or
making a food recipe, or even living a structured life.
