Are you still reading this OP?
Are you any clearer in your mind?

Read what Martin Gregorie wrote upthread, it's
nicely succinct although for completeness he possibly could have 
mentioned that technically Java is also an interpreted language although 
optimizations like Just In Time compilers tend to blur the distinction 
somewhat.

Ignore the other, (hijacked subject) thread, it's just mental 
masturbation by people who obviously have nothing better to do. :-)
