The problem is that once you say that make is not what you need, as I
mentionned before, you start to write your own solution to the same
problem.

Already there are more than half a dozen different variants of make, and
more than twenty other build systems (some language specific, some
platform specific).

This is really a big mess.

You end up with code bases where half a dozen different build systems
are used and interbraided in a very inefficient and brittle mess.

So just say NO!

Use GNU make and kill all the others!
