I make minimal use of command.exe as I normally work within my tools.
Those tools were part-ported to Linux a few years ago, but I then lost
interest (struggling with the basics such as full keyboard support and
controlling text on the console being one problem I had no stamina to
fight).
Anyway, I just have no interest in the capabilities of different command
shells. So long as they can launch my programs, and do an adequate job
as a file manager. The same capabilities as the 1970s CP/M probably!

OK. You don't like Windows, because it it's not as good as Unix, in your
opinion.
Fine. Other people have different views. Or they needed to make some
money because at one time no one was buying Unix systems.

For my own development, it is not a problem at all. It's a non-issue.
I wouldn't have anything to do with it, except some projects that are
supposed to work on Windows use makefiles which for me is an immediate
obstacle.

Not sure of the purpose of this example, unless it represents an
arbitrary application?
But it hurts my eyes a little so I would write it like this in my
language (also static, compiled, like C):

for i to nsysparams do
print sysparams[i]

end
Count the punctuation marks. Mine has 6. Yours I think has 51.
This I believe demonstrates the difference in mindset between you and
me. Is there any point in arguing further?
