My guess is that these people are using these xts in places where
performing the compilation semantics of the word makes sense.

If all of the Forth world had moved the way that Gforth had moved and
embraced Forth-94 interpretation and compilation semantics as concepts
to implement rather than as rough approximations of the speicific
implementation approach of specific systems, they could have used
COMP' for this purpose.

However, this has not happened in the last 20 years (and in
particular, cmForth, which inspired the Forth-94 approach, is no
longer relevant), and there is no reason to believe that it will
happen in the next 20 years.  So, time to accept reality and go back
to systems where every word has interpretation semantics.
