Heh. Lame. I'm a Verizon customer; but I couldn't tell you what my
Verizon email address is. I've come to have little interest in using
email addresses provided by service providers like Verizon, because I
don't want to be locked in if I should decide to go with another
provider. Instead, I use Apple's iCloud mail (which I never anticipate
getting moving away from) and my own email server, along with unlimited
disposable addresses provided for free by http://dnt.abine.com.

IMAP is *highly* recommended since it is *way* less problematic, and you
don't have to worry about configuring individual clients not to delete
mail. Your mail is stored on the server and is automatically available
everywhere. It's way more convenient and simple in design than the
ancient POP.

They could be saying that they are not providing IMAP support to Verizon
migrated accounts. It's hard to tell. Either way, AOL is something I
would definitely avoid at all costs. That zombie company can't die soon
enough.

The built-in mail clients do IMAP just fine - assuming AOL will actually
provide IMAP support to you.

Yeah. That's the kind of lock-in I avoid! Consider switching them all to
your icloud.com address!
