Main thing I fucked up was not properly researching the
layout of central station so I could get to the platform as
quickly as possible. I assumed that I would have a full
hour in hand and that that would be plenty of time to
wander around and do what needed to be done there.

The platform isn't listed on the ticket, presumably because
that is decided in the last few hours  based on what else they
have to do platform wise. I couldn't get much out of the rather
fucked trainslink map of central station and should have just
rang them and asked about that stuff and the detail of whether
you checkin like with the airlines or not. Again their web site
is completely useless on the most basic stuff like that.

I did that bit with google maps and wasn't really necessary
given the turn by turn instructions except for the lack of
detail with knowing which lane I needed to be in at the
last 10 mins or so.

Yeah, I managed to flatten the battery again coming back
home trying to watch that. That time the predictions were
complicated by the fact that the dunny on the bus had died
so the bus driver had to have a piss stop at Ardlethan and
due to the fact that it stops in all but the most tiny towns
usually outside the Post Office even in those that aren't
actually on the main highway itself like Ariah Park.

And there was a big thunderstorm on the radar at home
which we came thru about 30KM out. Turned out to be
the biggest deluge we have had for a couple of years now.
