Which has to make you wonder how widespread this practice is.  And,
how many sites are just using Hobbyist licenses for their production
systems in toto.  And, wether or not HP has become aware of this as
a problem and thus explains why they seem unwilling to talk to the
Hobbyist Community about buying support for unlicensed systems.

I seem to remember it being stated here that there really was no way
for Hobbyists to report these problems and that HP wasn't really 
interested in what Hobyists reported anyway.

I would expect that HP does nothing that costs money until a paying
customer complains.  Fixing things costs money, why fix something
that hasn't affected paying customers? (rhetorical question.  I know
why, but then bottom-line isn't my most important concern.)

That would be kinda chicken/egg, don't you think?  I know if I was a
production shop I would not place any value on the testing done by a
"hobbyist".  I would either test it myself in my environment or just
trust the company that has liability if it all goes to hell.

The company providing the patches, who has soem liability if they screw
up.  Or customers on systems set up for testing.  Or is that another 
facet of the development process that has disappeared now that programmers
call themselves engineers.
