Yes.  DVD's are digital media.

So is playing it once and watching it once.  I rent a lot of movies, but 
only very few are worth another view.

Congrats.  And I can *play* the same using the mouse and keyboard.  And 
I can play stuff that hasn't *aforehand* been "prepped" into iTunes.

Except that you, at some point, had to curate your iTunes video 
collection.  So you spent the time at some time...

The only place I would play them would be on my Mac (1%) or on the 
television (whatever 100 - 1 is).

It takes a "couple seconds" once you've _located_ it, or after it's been 
loaded in a DVD player and mounted.

You're just moving the point where the effort takes place and calling it 
a savings where none has happened.
