And tragically, ironically way off track.  You're consistent, I'll say that.

The case referred to was playing a file on my computer using iTunes or 
not.  The DVD discussion is a side track.

Of course you're not mentioning how the file got onto your computer in 
the first place.  That was in magic 0 time?

Last time I handbraked a DVD it certainly did not happen any quicker 
than loading a DVD into the player.  I appreciate that it's more or less 
a hands off background process, but it's not 0 effort at all.

(Indeed I can't even Handbrake real DVD's right now, I have to to 
re-install specific s/w to get around copyright - so that means I 
haven't done it since my prior iMac ... over 2 years ago).

Other than badly mastered disks, not at all.  Except the "warnings" you 
can skip everything else.

Disks were badly mastered in a lot of cases.  Some old ones force you to 
the menu to deselect closed captions.  Big deal.  Recent (last 10 years 
or more) disks allow you to jump over everything other than the warning.

Not killing me at all.  Watch DVD's less and streamed content more in 
any case.  I'm not going to rip DVD's to a disk for the convenience of 
watching it 4 years from now and saving a minute then by wasting time now.
