No, and no such luck :-p

Yep. Go find a staff person (Ha! good luck), or go find the scanner at
the other end of the shop.

Me too. I have a Kobo.

I don't use the phone to browse the web, I prefer a computer for that.
But sometimes I'm not at home and want a quick check on some info - say,
which time does a movie start, and can I get there in time?

I bought a device with few apps to start with (Motorola). Some brands
include many apps that are impossible to remove (Samsung, for instance).

The camera is usually just a convenience. For instance, I'm shopping,
and I want to ask a friend about something I see. So I send him a photo.

If I really want a good photo, I use my real camera. :-)

Same feeling here. But... who knows.

There are credit cards now that can be used here to pay amounts below
20€ just by placing the card on top of the shop counter device, without
asking for any kind of PIN or signature. Above 20€ and it requests the PIN.

So, there are shops that have many articles priced at 19.99€, so that
kids can pay for them fast and without permissions.

The idea is that you can pay for a coffee or a bus ticket just by waving
your phone.

Well, we both have phones in the same size range :-)
