I think I've noticed this.

And my theory is that there's an offload to some part of the brain to do 
the touchtyping, and somehow that part doesn't work so well.  Why do I so 
often type the letters in the wrong sequence?  It's not that I don't know 
how to spell the word, but in typing, some of the letters get transposed. 
But I think there's something else, because when writing, I don't remember 
either making that sort of mistake.  I could spell something wrong because 
I didn't remember the spelling, but I was more likely to catch it.  Maybe 
it's the speed of typing, something happens so I can type out the wrong 
spelling, and then fix it.
